WordPress MultiSites
| The ability to set up multiple sites controlled from within a single administration console has a number of practical applications. The most common is to launch a number of related sites, possibly specific product or event launch microsites for a business. Using multi sites makes it easier to create and maintain the sites, ensuring consistent branding, themes and functionality and the ability to replicate changes across the sites easily. |
News Sites | News sites are mainly characterised by the frequency of update and high traffic volumes. They usually host various advertising and promotional space to generate revenue, and provide details of events and allow online registration and payment for conferences and seminars. Social Network and Membership sites | We have created social network and membership sites which allows members to sign up, create their own pages, join special interest groups, and send messages to one another. The main ingredient in this is the use of BuddyPress plugin companion to WordPress, which enables these additional features. We have an example of such a site for the Islington Chamber of Commerce. |

WHY WORDPRESS?
WordPress is one of our very favourite technologies. And we are not alone. It is a phenomenon. First released in 2003, now it "is used by over 14.7% of Alexa Internet's ‘top 1 million' websites and as of August 2011 powers 22% of all new websites. WordPress is currently the most popular CMS in use on the Internet", according to Wikipedia.
WordPress is a great content management system because it is one of the friendliest and easiest to use. It can be easily used by a blogger at home, but also scalable to meet the needs of large businesses. But equally important is its flexibility, which has allowed a complete ecosystem of add-ons. These include an abundance of themes which allow you to easily choose and tailor the designs to your specific needs, and plugins and widgets to provide additional capabilities that meet almost any requirement.
WordPress is used in over half of all content managed sites. It powers sites from small personal blogs, through ecommerce, news, social media sites, all the way to some of the popular sites on the Internet, such as Mashable or the Chicago Tribune.
